Featured in this sale is a beautiful turtle flower frog or flower holder made by the Zanesville Stoneware Co. (ZSC). This little turtle does not have a maker\'s mark on the base butis identified in the Rans, Ralston and Russell collector\'s guide of Zanesville Stoneware as shape \"T\".The piece has a beautiful mold detail including the raised head,shell pattern and tucked tail.This flower insert is in very good condition with extraneous scratches and scuffs from gentle use. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing and no repairs; however, there are a number of glaze flakes and fleabites on the base, feet, head and stem holes. It is finished in a really thick, curdled matte-greenglaze.As is the case with many ZSC pieces, there are some production flaws to note, namely glaze skips on the feet as well as visible stilt pulls (as made).This little guy is approximately 4-1/2\" long and 3\" wide. It\'s very clean with lots of art pottery character. Check out all 9 photos!
