There are a total of 36 pieces with a six piece setting for each person. The pattern is the 1888 Gorham Silver Co. VERSAILLES Multi-motif Art Nouveau flatware pattern. As the figures of Lovely draped Maidens, Cupids and Cherubs are different on each piece, I have tried to show a close-up of all the corresponding motifs. All of these pieces are in very good gently used and well cared for estate condition. There is a monogram on the back of the teaspoons and also the pastry forks as pictured. None of the other pieces were monogrammed.Included are the following pieces:6 Large Solid Flat Handle Butter Spreaders 5 7/8\"6 Pierced Pastry/Salad Forks 6\"6 Dinner Knives 8 7/8\"6 Forks 6 3/4\"6 Teaspoons 5 7/8\"6 Large Dessert Oval Soup Spoons 7 1/8\"
The solid pieces are heavy and weigh 2 pounds 10 ounce or 1185 grams. I did not weigh the knives as the only the handle are Sterling and the blades are stainless. I have loaded many photos as part of the description. If you need additional information just ask. The flatware chest is not included.
This flatware pattern was designed by Anton Heller for Gorham Silver Company. The design of each terminal of the pieces of the Versaillespattern issaid to be inspired by a scene from the palace at Versailles. Some of the designs come from the windows, some from the statutes, the artwork, etc. Very typical for the intricacy and incredible art of Heller designs.
