6-1/2 inches high This sale is for a beautiful American Aesthetic Movement Mixed Metal Copper and Sterling Silver Tankard made in the Japanese style by Gorham in 1881. This Tankard has a handsome copper body with flaring base, c scroll handle, and gilded copper interior. Decoration consists of an appliedsilver rim with a repeating arch and dart pattern and a body pattern of applied silver flowers, limbs, leaves (possibly cherry blossom branches) and flying birds.

Condition: Very good condition with only remnants of a shiny copper finish still found around and between the applied decorations. I have gently washed it, leaving polishing to the expert buyer.
