I purchased this pair, built with rare, Exhibition Grade English Walnut (Juglans regia), new.They have been treated with great care and are in excellent shape. Because the wood is oil finished it\'s easy to sand out the inevitable small dings and scratches and re-oil.
From the photos you will see one obvious modification. The right arm on one chair has been professionally removed. This was done so that I could sit and play guitar. It also makes the chair much more comfortable for holding an infant and moreaccessible for youngsters to climb onto your lap.Having the pair in this configuration gives one the best of all options and removing the arm has no effect on the chairs strength. The removed pieces are included.
