This wonderful, detailed Halcyon Days box has five ovals with the last five British monarchs on top. Queen Elizabeth II is in the center, surrounded by Edward VII (her great-grandfather), George V (her grandfather), Edward VIII (her uncle who abdicated to marry Wallis Warfield Simpson), and George VI (her father), starting at the top and going clockwise. The blue background has clusters of red berries and leaves, and acorns with oak leaves. The side has the same background with castles in the front and back, and two crowns on the sides. One crown is the St. Edward\'s Crown usually used for coronations, and the Imperial State Crown, which is lighter, and was used for the coronation of Edward VII. The inside top has \"Following the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 her son Edward VII, a member of of the Saxe-Coburg dynasty, ascended the throne. In 1917 George V changed the name of the British Royal family to Windsor.\" George V changed the name at the end of World War I because he felt that the name was too Germanic. Listed on the inside bottom are the monarchs with their years of rule, in chronological order. The box is 1.4\" by 1.8\" with a height of .9\".
