You are looking at a handforged custom made knife forged from a vintage high carbon steel railroad spike . I have made the knife with a tab to prevent slipping I make these one at a time with the skills i have learned from my late father , growing up in a blacksmith shop i prefected the art of handforging. The process of making these knives takes hours of hard labor , it very high heat condition .At this time i have made near3600 of this type knife , with a handle design like none other,. First i start with a very old spike and i heat this to a red hot temp and began hammering all by hand, shaping and designing the knife no 2 are alike , once i get the shape i want i grind the blade , then i go back and heat treat it and carefully temper the blade , this will assure a good edge so it can be sharpened , and maintain a good cutting edge, i have twisted the handle in a design very unique have more available FREE Display included..Overall length 8 \"
