THIS WONDERFUL AND VERY FINE HAND WROUGHT STERLING VASE WAS MADE BY FRANK WALTER LAWRENCE IN NEW YORK CITY OR NEWARK, NJ, RIGHT AROUND 1900. THIS VERY RARE VASE IS MOST ASSUREDLY LAWRENCE\'S RESPONSE TO GORHAM\'S MARTELE LINE. THE PIECE IS ENTIRELY HAND RAISED WITH IT\'S BASE BEING HAND CHASED WITH A WATER SCENE INCLUDING IRIS FLOWERS AND LEAVES THAT GROW UP THE SIDES OF THE BODY OF THE VASE WITH TWO DRAGON FLIES HOVERING ABOVE THE WATER. IT MEASURES 7 1/8\"TALL X 5\" IN DIAMETER AROUND THE BASE. IT IS IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH A FANTASTIC PATINA AND HAS NEVER BEEN MONOGRAMED. THIS IS TRULY A VERY RARE AND IMPORTANT PIECE OF AMERICAN SILVER.
