Antique & impressive Japanese Wakizashi sword blade - Edo period, 17th-18th century.
The exceptional blade is fully polished boasting an exiting, wild Hamon with many \'mountain\' picks and valleys - the steel shows a beautiful grain and no forging flaws.
It is signed \'SETTSU FUJIWARA NAGASHIGE\' for a famed family of makers active in the 17th century - I am not sure which generation crafted this blade but it is made in the highest standard - very thick and heavy for size.
the blade is 49.6 cm total with 36 cm long cutting edge (Ko-Wakizashi size) - it weighs 471.8 grams
