ROYAL TOUR, 1947A somewhat scarce, very interesting photo booklet for the collector.
This is a 40-page booklet commemorating the British battleship HMS Vanguard as she \'crossed the line\' (equator) on her way to
South Africa during her Royal Tour there in 1947 with Princess Elizabeth aboard. Booklet includes a facsimile letter from the
Princess at Buckingham Palace which was included in the booklet.
Booklet includes a number of b&w photos throughout its 40-pages.
Size of booklet: 14.5 cm x 22 cm.
Comes in its original envelope as well as a personal letter sent by a crewman of Vanguard whilst on the 1947 tour.
Booklet is in very good condition indeed for 1947. The only minor issue is the centre page, the colour certificate you can seein photo 8, has come away from the staples. It is in itself in very good condition - just loose from the staples. Other than that -
a lovely old commemorative booklet indeed for the collector, historian, etc.
