This impressive stone is a natural,high quality solid Mexican Fire Opal freeform which shows a range of intense colourplay under different light conditions - see photos.

Mexican fire opal of high quality, colourplay and size is extremely hard to find, with mine production in Mexico having slowed dramatically over the last decade, and other mines flooding the market.
This HUGE carat weight of gem grade opal is incredibly rare, and available for a limited time only - fees are high and I will not be listing for long.

This high quality opal displays ethereal subtle pastel
rainbow tones in low light, and vibrant rainbow
colours with contra-luz tendencies in sunlight!

Brightness/colourplay is a very important opal characteristic.
Brightness is measured on a scale of 1 to 5;
\'1\' having no play of colour, and \'5\' being most valuable with
brilliant flashes of colour that can be seen at arms\' length.
This opal is rated 5, with a strong colourplay which can
be seen across a room in sunlight.

Body tone describes the colour of the base opal stone.
The translucency of this opal allows you to see colourplay
throughout the entire stone, adding depth and brilliance.
