$902.00

NEVER BEFORE seen collection of 950+ love letters written between a couple during WWII. They are all in bundles by year in nearly perfect original order. It is VERY RARE to find BOTH directions of mail, meaning the MAN and the WOMAN so there is a dialogue. He saved her letters and brought them home and she of course kept all of his letters. There are over NINE HUNDRED and FIFTY LETTERS here all from the same couple! WOW!!
They are:
Lawrence Anthony \"Law\" Douglass (25 Apr 1923-27 Mar 1983) of Mansfield Ohio who was in the US Navy. His parents were Paul Elmer Douglass (1897-1978) and Lorene Fischer (1897-1985).
Martha Joan (Turner) Douglass. (9 Feb 1924-living). Her parents were Walter Turner & Bertha L. Houston (1901-1938). Her father later remarried. Her siblings were Aileen M. Burton and Jeannie Auxter.Law and Joan had one son, Ronald E. Douglass (b. 22 Jan 1948-living) of 2985 Crimson Road, Mansfield Ohio. 44903.These letters span over 5 years from 1942-1947. Mostly all actual letters but there are a few V-mail and a few telegrams and only one or two postcards. There is also a large bag of other misc. papers and letters including Mr. Douglass\' military history papers.
Quite a history here and never before have I seen so many letters between one couple-- in both directions!*Plastic tubs shown in the picture are not included.*
