About this pattern: \"The CORONATION pattern was made for many years by several different manufacturing plants in the U.S. and also in Canada. When marketed in Europe it was also known as Hampton Court.\" (thanks to LizJewel - dot- com) and
pattern is ...\"76 years young. The pattern name is \"Coronation\" and is a highly pierced silverplated flatware pattern. It was introduced by Oneida Community in 1936, May 29th to be exact and is long discontinued. Why? Community created the \"Coronation\" pattern in 1936 in order to honor a Coronation that in the end never took place......Edward VIII ended up abdicating the throne in order to marry an American, Wallis Simpson before his coronation could take place. You can see the ART DECO influence in the design of the handles. There are ridges running downward the length of each handle that end at a pierced floral section just before the smooth, squared off end. \" (etsy - dot - com)** From a smoke-free home **
