This is a stunning mid century French tapestry made by serigraph. The design is in the style of a classical Aubusson Verdure, and is based on an 18th century painting called La Halte des Chasseurs (The break of the hunters).This is NOT a Chinese reproduction!!! The colors are quite beautiful and vivid, there is no fading. The condition isAMAZING; it hasnowear, no holes, no repairs, and no smells.My guess is that it was hung either in a quite dark room, or that it has remained in storage for a very long time. It is lined and has clips at the back which means it\'s ready to hang. Another very easy way of hanging is to buy velcro tape,stick one part to the wall and the other to the tapestry. It would however benefit from the addition of a wider border. That\'s a great way to make a tapestry blend in with your decor, adding a border in one of the colours already present in your room.

The maker of this tapestry is called Rambouillet : \"Tapisserie De Rambouillet - Polychrome reproduction on textile of \"La halte des chasseurs\" tapestry (Ateliers d\'Aubusson, XVIIIth. Cent., Mobilier National, Paris). The reproduction of the original 18th century piece happens through long and scrupulous stages of workmanship by a team of de Rambouillet artisans. They use secrets and techniques of Renaissance masters. Beginning from the full-size reproduction of the pattern on cardboard, rfollowed by templates, one for colour, hand drawn on looms which are then tinted. For every tapestry 12 to 17 serigraphy looms are used\"

It\'s a large piece measuring 237cm x 147cm (93 inches x 57 inches). A very good size to go over a sofa or for a dining room wall.
