This piece is a traditional Huichol “painting” made of yarn and beeswax the craftsman first cuts a Sq feet of wood, then covers it with bees wax and starts working the yarn without any previous design. This piece in particular is one of the most sophisticated in terms of design and colour and working of the shadows and shades of each tone.
The meaning of the decoration is on the back and says: “This image represents the ceremony of our grandfather fire, Tatewari. A Marakame makes the singing and prayers of the offerings of the sacred places that one has to visit in order to achieve the well being of the family when a sickness occurs.Juan Carrillo Bonilla, San Andrés Cohiata, Jalisco 2013.\"
