Here is a lovely Halcyon Days Enamels Bilston & Battersea Christmas Box from 1981. The box features birds amidst holly and mistletoe. The box is 1.75 inches across and 1 inch high. There is no better way to commemorate Christmas than a diminutive keepsake box from Halcyon Days. They are enamel on copper with a golden mount. Hand painted in England. These boxes are made for a very limited time and then the cast is destroyed never to made again. About Halcyon Days Enamels: The Halcyon Days shop opened in London\'s Mayfair in 1950, and its Halcyon Days Enamels debuted 20 years later, single handedly reviving the nearly lost English art of enameling on copper. Halcyon Days Enamels keepsake boxes, featuring hand enameling and hand painting, are prized by collectors worldwide as modern heirlooms. Whilst the English craft of enameling on copper flourished during the 18th century, by the 1830\'s it had almost disappeared; consequently the pieces which Halcyon Days specialized in were extremely rare. In 1970 Susan Benjamin established a collaboration with enamel manufacturer Bilston and Battersea Enamels. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or stains, was only displayed and not used. Will ship quickly USPS.
