Haliotis rufescens 193.7mm (about 7 5/8\") Gorgeous Giant Red Wavy Abalone Shell Rare Vintage 60\'s from a Private Collection This magnificent specimen is from a private collection recently aquired from an estate sale. This collector began collecting his shells in the early 50\'s and continued for many years. The Photos are of the actual shell for sale. These shell are in excellent condition. Keep in mind seashells are NOT man made and will have naturally occurring imperfections, flaws, chips, scars and color variations. Some more than others depending on its nature and areas of habitation. This abalone shell is quite large and very beautiful for its size, with all the classic coloring and wavy body shaping particular to its genus. An exquisite example of its species.
