Georgian English Sterling Silver Tumbler Cup c 1800

Presentedis a solid silver English Drinking cup . This shape is usually called a tumbler cup as they are difficult toknock over and usually set themselves aright on the table. It isbeautiful cup with high finish and excellent detail. It is a very useful itemas well as a highly collectable early piece of silver from England in SterlingSilver. The hallmarks are incomplete and as my English books are not definitive, I can not determine exactly when it was made as the date cycle of letters is different for each city. The interior has a pale gold wash and shimmers with just hints of the hammer marksshowing from its hand hammered making. It is a wonderfully designed piece and is a beautiful example of thesilver smiths’ art.
