Lovely primitive style hand hooked rug. I drew this based on an antique rug from one of my books.

The wool for this rug is a wide cut, between 1/3 to half an inch. Very thick and substantial.

The flowers are made from rusty red and gold textured wools, and also some antique paisley. The pot was hooked using three textured brown wools. The light gray background is from a piece of hand dyed wool whose sludgey color comes from dyeing using scraps and snippets from other projects. There are hints of color, but overall it reads like a stone gray. Very neutral.

Drawn on a premium linen backing. Finished using thick wool yarn whipped over binding tape, for a professional finish.

Measures approximately 12.5 by 22.5 inches. A really lovely piece. Great texture and very versatile.
