This purpleheart wood(scientific name-Peltogyne) pen blank, from central and South America (fromMexico down to southern Brazil), is first turned on a lathe to get it to thegeneral shape desired. From there it issanded to its final shape beginning at 100 grit sandpaper. The sanding continues in incremental stepsthrough 600 grit sandpaper. Followingthe sanding, the pen wood body is then finished using Albalon polishing disk withgrits of 1000, 2000 and 4000. Once thesanding and polishing is completed a high gloss finish is achieved by theapplication of Hut satin finish polish followed by Hut high gloss polish. The pen is then carefully hand assembled toachieve the beauty and precision for the expected result of this qualitypen. The pen is always tested for smoothoperation and quality writing.
