Antique Handmade Table Mat Zoomorphic Figural ITALIAN PUNTO TIRATO and PUNTO VENEZIANEEDLE LACEDescription: I offer you here a handmade figural needle lace table centerpiece - a fine example of both Italian Punto Tirato drawn work and handmade Punto Venezia needle lace. Thiselegant mat is created from white linen. It is a drawn and pulled zoomorphic pattern of unusual birds, wings high, eating from a table in front of a pine tree. It is about 19\" x 14\". I find no damage, no stains. It has been freshly soaked, hand-laundered and very lightly pressed. Please enlarge my photos for close up views of this antique lace. If you are a collector of handmade Italian lace, you will love this superb example.

Pulledthread laceis made by embroidery threads that are stitched with tension toproduce an open patterned lacy effect to the fabric. No fabricthreads are removed from the fabric in pulled thread work.
