This is a handmade loose cheek mullen mouth bit made by well-known long time maker John Israel of Wynona, Oklahoma. John has been making bits for fifty years and his bits are popular among cowboys and cutters. The bit is marked JD ISRAEL and WYNONA, OK on the mouth piece. The bit is steel and it sure is not pretty but they say these bits really perform. There is rust and some pitting in the steel. It is not bent, broken, or repaired. This would be a nice bit to use or to add to a collection.
