Lovely Kimono Quilt!This belonged to the aunt of my MIL.
She was very well traveled with a connection to Japan, and collected some beautiful things.(I have a Kimono of hers, as well, which I will list soon.)
I don\'t know anything about it, but she\'s been gone for many years and I doubt it was new at the time.It\'s certainly not a typical quilt...
Hand sewn, in delicate, small (but occasionally somewhat messy) stitches.
I don\'t know if perhaps the fabric was from original kimonos, but it\'s lovely and each geisha has a different fabric--each one prettier than the next!
The quilt measures 46 by 44\". The back is plain white muslin.
It is padded and poofy. Each Geisha girl/square measures 17.5\" by 12\".It\'s in excellent condition, but there are a few spots here and there. It has not been laundered.A wonderful and unusual addition to your collection!
