You are offerding on abeautiful handmade Yupik Eskimodollattributedto Anna MarieMartins (1926-2012), a famous basket and doll maker fromChevak, Alaska. I am the second owner of this doll. I purchased it from a gentleman who said he acquired it in Nome about 2001, and that it was made by Anna Martins.It is not signed, so I\'m calling it \'attributed\'.The woman is 10\" talland about 51/2\"at its widest point. Beautiful genuine seal and fur (several types). A wonderful, joyful expression on her face. You willhave a hard time finding a nicer, genuine handmade Eskimo doll.Here is some information about Martins:

Anna Martins
Anna first started to make dolls when she was a little girl, before adolescence. She learned to sew from her Mom. She learned basket
making from her Mom and sold them in Old Chevak, before 1950 for as little as 50c.Anna gathers her materials here locally around Chevak. These days it takes her up to two weeks to complete a doll or a basket. She used to
make them in less than a week.
Anna sells her dolls and baskets in Bethel and Anchorage.
