This is a superb miniature portrait set in a 10-12K rose gold frame. The painting is absolutely beautifully done with great skill and detail. It depicts a minister or priest or cleric. The quality of the painting is superb. He has stunningly beautiful eyes, the hair has extraordinary detail, and the face is truly magnificent! It is difficult for me to date this piece. It could be from the 18th century or the 19th century. The quality is the best. I am also not sure of what the portrait is painted on. It appears to be a natural substance but I cannot say for sure. The portrait is framed in a lovely 10-12K gold frame, attesting to the quality of the painting. The miniature was purchased in Finland and this could very likely be a Scandinavian, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish minister.

It is in wonderful period condition. There are a few tiny flecks of paint which have come off on the lower right hand portion. On the reverse is what I believe is hair so this was a mourning piece I believe. The frame is 48 mm tall not including the bale and 38 mm wide. It weighs 11.7 grams. The gold tests for 10-12K gold, probably 12K.Shipping:
