Handsome Santo Domingo Squash Blossom Depression/WWII Era Necklace:

This Depression-WWII Era Thunderbird Necklace was made in Santo Domingo by a local tribe during the depression-WWII era. The materials used during that time include recycled man-made phonograph records, battery casings, toothpaste caps (made of a mix of plastic and metal) and, of course, the turquoise chips. Squash Blossom Necklaces such as this one are collectable because the back of the thunderbird is made entirely of recycled phonograph records. Thunderbird is 2-1/2 inches tall, 2 inches wide; 24 inch chain, approximate 14.5 inch drop without Thunderbird. The necklace is on a metal chain - not on thread or cord like most of them.
