Vintage \'60s Acoustic Archtop! Made In USA!
This is really cool. You are looking at a Vintage 1960\'s Harmony Monterey Leader Acoustic Archtop. These were built from 1938 to 1972. A very long production run. Built in Chicago, USA. These are really great \"Players\" Used by Elvis Presley in several of his films from the 1960\'s. Intermediate level guitars that actually play and sound very well. Perfect for the Delta Blues. These guitars in recent years have becomecollectible. They are affordable vintage USA guitars.
Keep in mind that these were low cost intermediate guitars. They do not play or sound as good as a Gibson, Martin or Taylor. That is why those guitars are a lot more expensive.
If you are into that old time kind of sound, this is the right choice. Great for playing slide.
Weight:4.05 lbs.Cosmetics: Good Condition.Lacquer checking on both sides of the body. Wherever there is wood, there is the checking. There are also finish cracks that are NOT structural. The middle part of thetop just above the bridgehas sunk in slightly. It is right over an internal brace and does not appear to be going anywhere. Some light scratches on both sides of the body. Neck and Fretboard in good shape. Pickguard is not original.Overall, good condition.It is used. Not perfect. Look at the pictures closely. They will tell the story.
