Own a piece of haunted history! ... This grand, Bronze Sculpture entitled \'Nude with Ball,\' is signed on the marble base and has a brass nameplate. Listed Artist was Lucien Charles Edouard Alliot (French 1877-1967) was son of sculptur Napolean Alliot. His work using the \"lost wax process\" was exhibited at the Paris Salon where he often won distinction as a prized sculptor. And he was also an expert judge at the salon from 1934-1939, as well as being the student of Louis Ernest Barrias and Jules Felix Coutan. He was also a friend of famed artists \'Charles Stickley\' and \'Roland Boutwell,\' which is where this bone chilling ghost story all begins ...
Roland Boutwell is considered father of the Arts and Crafts Movement in America. His metal workshop was built in Manitou Springs, Colorado. By 1912, it was known around the world as \'The Craftwood Shops.\' Next door to the artist compound was his massive home, then known as Rockledge. Years later, the compound was split into three smaller estates, \'The Craftwood,\' \'Rockledge,\' and Onaledge.\'All three buildings developed a haunted reputation over the years, especially \'Onaledge,\' known as the first \"Haunted Bed and Breakfast,\' in Colorado. Then in 1999, the new owner of Onaledge began experiencing nightmares about a woman buried inside the mansion\'s stone walls! And she was lured to the back of a closet where shefound a hidden trap door! And a veritable treasure trove of antiques including this statue, a personal gift from Alliot to the first owner of Onaledge! An old letter told how thestatue had beensmuggled out of France during World War II.
And this statue may have never been rediscovered if not for the cries of a woman coming from inside the walls! WTF? Cometo find out, another secret room had been discovered at the Craftwood shops in the 1930s, and it\'s believed the precious art was hidden due to the high cost of precious metals like copper and bronze, during the wars. And desperate measures were also taken because there had been a couple of robberies at the Craftwood Shops.
The Onaledge Estate was recently listed by both \'The Huffington Post,\' and \'USA Today,\' as number 6 on our nation\'s top ten most haunted places. And this statue is mostly to blame. Included with the statue will be copies of historic newspaper articles revealing the mystery of the secret room, and an autographed copy of \'Haunted Manitou Springs,\' where there is a chapter specifically about the Onaledge Estate. (Written by Stephanie Waters, and published by The History a Press.) And I\'ll also happily include a color copy of the magazine cover featured with the haunted statue; suitable for framing. I\'ve heard there may be plans to make this haunting ghost story into a feature film, and so this sculpture will make a good investment, even if you don\'t believe in ghosts! For more information about \'Onaledge,\' or \'Lucien Alliot,\' all you have to do is Google!
Do I believe this statue is haunted? Yes I do! But, I haven\'t heard her crying, lately.
I\'m also willing to pay extra to insure the statue is shipped properly, and is insured for the amount you paid, in case she is lost or damaged during shipment. I\'m expecting this to cost about $100.00 as she\'s a heavy piece weighing about 38 pounds.
A portion of sales for this statue will be donated to \'The Children\'s Miracle Network.\'
Thanks for looking. Questions are welcomed.
