Here is your chance to own the original “Big Fig” of the Haunted Mansion’s legendary “Hatbox Ghost.” This one was released in 2005 and sold in the parks as well as in the Disney store. The artists were Kevin Kidney and Jody Dailey, who were commissioned to make this for Disneyland’s 50th anniversary. It is reportedly limited to only 600 pieces, but it was not numbered.This one is not to be confused with the smaller versions that have come out in recent years. (I have those as well, but they are not part of this sale). This is the granddaddy of them all! It is made of green-tinted resin, measures approximately 24” inches tall, and is comprised of three pieces: the base he stands on, the figure himself, and his cane. On the side of his head you will find a battery compartment and a switch that will light his face in an eerie glow. Batteries are not included. There is no Certificate of Authenticity, but the base does state that it is an official Disney item that is part of the 50th anniversary celebration.I am the original owner of this piece. Item has been displayed in my smoke-free home for the past 12 years and has never been damaged that I can see.
