Haworths\' Planting Machinery Ad in the Agricultural Building at the 1893 Chicago World\'s Fair

-5.5 x6.5 inches colorful stiffwraps with black and red print, young boy, and ear of corn design (front and back covers shown). Decatur, IL: Haworth, 1893;8 pp. printed on smooth buffpaper (title page shown describes the advantages of their planter design). The ad shows their 2-row planter and plant head design plus other implements. Inside back cover has a calendar which shows the ad was published close to when the Fair opened. The Haworth was Exhibitor #409 in the vast Agricultural Building Implement Annex, Group 16, Class 85 located at pillar posts E-E-4 near the North end. No specific mention of the WCE or its location in the booklet, but part of an intact WCE collection I purchased in 2004 from the great granddaughter of the exhibit visitor atthe Fair in 1893 (provenance letter shown and provided). The 11 ads from the WCE were from Liberal Arts or the Agriculture Building which must have been favorites. Two-row hobby garden corn planters of similar design are still made today, but commercialfarm planters are 44 feet wide and drill the seeds into the ground using highpressure airnozzles.

- Condition: Excellent, pages fine. Fold fine. Partially folded in the center at one time but no separations (shown). Very nice.
