This item was in a box lot of \"junk\" that I bought at an estate sale last week. The man was selling the house & all its contents to move to a retirement home. I was able to locate the obituary for this man\'s dad who I believe was the original owner of the map. Part of the obituary stated,\"He attained the rank of captain in World War II, being in the 2nd Armored Division. He participated in three amphibious landings during World War II-North Africa, Sicily, and the Second Day Omaha Beach, Normandy. He received two bronze stars for valor.\"(see full copy of obituary in photos.)
