A stunning french 1925-1930 art deco chandelier by Hettier et Vincent in nickel plated bronze. The fixture holdsabeautifulball shaped shade in thickmoulded-pressed glass. This model exists in three different sizes. The oneHetV used for thispendant lamp is the largest version with a diameter of about 25 cm (9-7/8\").
These balls are always unsignedandare represented in the catalogue of Verreries des Hanots under the name \'boule turbans\'. Many sellers call them Hettier & Vincent glasses and offer them with cheap if not worthless fixtures that have nothing to do with Hettier & Vincent or even with French art deco.And it\'snonsense since unsigned H&V shades do not exist. HetV were producers of iron and bronze lamps and they ordered their shades at various glass factories.The models made by these factories for HV exclusively were sometimes signed Hettier Vincent but even this does not make them glassmakers.
My authenticchandelier is represented in the Hettier & Vincent catalogue supplement 1 plate 131. The nickel plated solid brass or bronze fixture is of excellent quality. Very fine detailed work as can be expected from Hettier & Vincent. Note the ingenious and patented system of the H&V chain which allows the electrical wire to run as it were inside the chain.The chandelier has a drop of 66 cm (26\"). It is inexcellent condition. I have renickeled and patinated themounting and it comes rewired. It has a european E27 standard socket. For the US I will place a new USstandard base one. I could wire with a B22 bayonet cap socket as well.
