This bed features a lovely carved center crest over an arched inset burl walnut panel. The arched foot board also offers lovely burl walnut. The bed is in excellent condition, very solid and ready to be enjoyed another 150 years.
Measurements:
83 inches high
56 3/4 inches wide~~total

Mattress area 53 wide and 77 long~~for the novice collector, the rails have been extended to accommodate a full size mattress and springs. The width is one inch to narrow. The solution~instead of using box springs get a heavy duty piece of plywood and cut to fit the inside and lay the mattress on that. This serves two purposes, (1) you can use a full size mattress (2) with the height of mattresses and springs these days you will not be covering up half of the headboard and hiding the beauty of the bed.
