The B29 \" Necessary Evil \" was one of 15 B29\'s especially built to carry and drop an Atomic Bomb. The photo size Is 5 x 7. He has autographed for the both missions that he flew.

handsigned onthe photo by Mr. Gackenbach. ThisIs not ascan, preprint, or forgery. I have Included a photo of all of us at the Chantilly, Va. Gun Show. Details of our appearances can be found on my website, the same name as my book, The509thremembered.I have also Included a copy of thecertificate awarded to me ( my sponsor was North Carolina Arms ) for bringing Russ to the NRA Annual Meeting In Nashville.

Note you are purchasing from a 509th Historian. Russ was Crew member of Crew B-10, others who are more Interested In selling than preserving correct history have Mis Identified his plane and Crew number

TheMarquardt Crew flewtwo (2) combat Missions over Japan, each time carrying a 10,000 \"Fatman\" bomb loaded with high explosive (torpex). This crew Is most famous for accompaning the Enola Gay as The Camera B29 on August 6, 1945and then they flew the Enola Gay on the August 9th, 1945 Mission as the Kokura Weather plane which was the primary target. The Bomb was not dropped on Kokura because of cloud cover. The Atomic Bomb was then flown to anddropped on Negasaki.
