Here's a TRULY RARE historical artifact. In my years of collecting I have not come across another.
It measures 5 1/2" by 10 1/4".
It says: "IMPROVED BY WORKS PROJECT ADMINISTRATION 1935 - 1936."
"WPA" stands for Works Progress Administration. This was the largest component of the "New Deal" program initiated by President Franklin Roosevelt during the Great Depression to put Americans back to work building parks, bridges, and other infrastructure during the 1930s.
DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OBTAIN THIS HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT SIGN -- YOU WILL LIKELY NEVER SEE ANOTHER ONE COME UP FOR SALE. Most of these signs were scrapped and melted down to build military equipment and wares for World War II -- how this one survived is anyone's guess.
