Scarce Hobbs Grape with Overlapping Foliage Baroque Cobalt Blue Base Oil Lamp c.1870

This oil lamp is scarce from top to bottom! If you are a glass collector or oil lamp collector this is the piece for you!

The oil font is mold blown in three parts in a scarce Hobbs Brockunier pattern \"Grape with Overlapping Foliage\". The mold seams can be felt on the inside of the oil font as well as the outside. Under ultraviolet light it does glow The base is a pressed glass 3 mold Baroque base in an extremely rare and scarce Cobalt Blue color. The pictures make it look purple, but it is cobalt blue.

The connectors are original and held together with plaster. They show patina from age and have no issues. The burner is not original , but it is not unusual for burners to be replaced. The chimney may also not be original as well, but I belive is age appropriate.

Measurements:

Approx 9.5\" to top connector 17\" to top of chimney

Condition:

This lamp is in great shape! For its age, its near perfect. The only issue I have been able to find is three nicks/flakes/chips to the underside/bottom of the base.

This comes from an estate of a 93 year old avid glass and lamp collector. Some of the rarest stuff I have ever seen. We will be listing more rare glass and lamps, so keep an eye out on our store.
