Huge 19th Century sunset coastal view titled \'After The Storm\', oil on canvas by Henry Dawson. Magnificent andgrandscale example of Dawson\'s painting, one of the leading coastal painting of the 19th century. The view captures the waves crashing against the rocky coastline as the sun sets over the silhouette of a coastal small town on thehorizon. The work as with many of Dawson\'s paintings isboth technically accomplished in terms of its atmosphere but also symbolic of hope amid adversity. Original condition, probably painted for exhibition, maybe at the RoyalAcademy where many of his works were shown. Inscribed to the original antique gilt gesso frame with title.
