This is a string of very old beads. I assume that they are copal. I did several tests on them, they are thermostatic, they pick up pieces of paper when rubbed, they fracture when cut, they do not dissolve in acetone or become tacky, they have no taste and they emit sooty fumes when touched with a hot needle. But they do not float, they are boyant but do not pop to the surface like most amber I have tested, also they are heavy and dense therefore I am selling them as copal or simulated amber. The largest piece is approx 2\" in diameter and the smallest 1 1/4\". The total weight is 633 grams.
