A super rare item from thePeoples Republic of Hungary. a \"diszszemle\" is term for \"inspectionparade\". every 5 years, Hungary had a military parade, and thiswas worn by a participant/soldier. in other words, this badge was only made for useof one day (although,if you participated in more than one 5-year parade, you were encouraged towear the badge from the previous parade). what else makes this badge so rare is that in 1970, the Hungarian military wasmore-or-less a skeleton crew of a small air force, light armor,and border guards.

it is a top-notch brass badge, enamelled red, white, green, and orange. 1 1/2\" by 1 1/4\". note: this badge has been repaired (home-spun) by the recipient. when the pinback fastener broke, the previous owner glued a straight pin to the back side (see photo).
