Reverse Donkey with label LLD. Legend: THE CONSTITUTION AS I UNDERSTAND IT, ROMAN FIRMNESS and VETO. Made by Scovill Manufacturing Co. of Waterbury, CT. This Hard Times token mocked Jackson for his economic policies.

These and other tokens were issued privately when banks suspended payments and would no longer issue coins in change.
