This is a nice example of an Indo Persian Shield \"Dahl\" that dates from the late 19th Century. It measures 14 1/2 inches in diameter and is wonderfully detailed in an intricate floral design that is enhanced with silver wash upon the face. It wears four riveted heads that coordinate beautifully. Only remnants of the inside hand padding remains, nevertheless all four rings are present.
