This is a Victorian Mountmellick embroidered pillow or nightdress case not a modern reproduction.
The outer layer is a sateen finished cotton and inside is lined with plain cotton.
It measures 18 inches x 15 inches and the flap is 71/2 inches. The fringing adds a further 2 inches all around the edges and to the flap.
It measures 46cm x 38.5cm and the flap is 19cm. The fringing adds a further 5cm all around the edges and to the flap.
Condition:Slight yellowing due to storage, one small stain of 1cm to the front, some loss of fringing-please see pictures. I haven\'t attempted to wash it to bring back the whiteness, I\'ll leave that to an expert.
It has a red thread laundry mark and the name of a former owner in faded script inside, the initial \'B\' is embroidered on the back-probably the original owner.
Please supersize the pictures as you can really see the stitching and details.
It weighs 253g unpackaged.
It will be carefully packaged for shipping to the buyer by tracked and insured post.
