This is my wonderful Ideal Ginger Doll from the 1930\'s. She is 13 -14\" without the hat, which adds another 2\" to her overall height. The back of her chest reads USA 13, but she measures closer to 14\".
Ginger dolls are getting harder and harder to find. She has some crazing on her composition that is noticeable. You can see it on the photos of her face and on her legs. Ginger was made by the same company that made the Shirley Temple Dolls – The Ideal Novelty Co in the 1930’s. Ginger is made of composition and has excellent coloring, clear eyes with all of her lashes, vivid painted features, open mouth with a felt tongue and 5 upper teeth. She does have crazing throughout her body and a tiny paint chip on her lips. Ginger’s costume is in excellent condition and has that famous Shirley Temple print that is also HTF. She wears an original onesie with attached slip.There is some fading to her dress, and the elastic in her sleeves has given way a bit. Her outfit has been professionally cleaned and is ready for display. Her straw hat is in excellent condition, and her shoes are her original blue oilcloth shoes; her socks are replaced, as are the bright blue ribbons on her sleeves. Ginger\'s stringing is tight and she is ready to display and enjoy. I am listing her for far less than I paid, so the buyer can set the price. Non-smoking home; thanks for looking!
