This is a vintage Iida 5-string banjo in it\'s original hard-shell case. It would make a great student banjo due to it\'s light weight and ease of play-ability. It also sounds very good!
It was made in Japan in the 70s - 80s era, prior to Asian banjo production being moved to Korea. It\'s in remarkable condition, especially considering it\'s 30+ years old.
I\'ve done a complete set-up on the banjo, and along the way made quite a few upgrades, including a Remo head, Price-style straight-line tailpiece, 5-Star geared 5th string tuner, capo spikes, and an upgraded bridge.
The end result is a banjo that plays and sounds so much better than it originally did when produced. I know this because my very first banjo was identical to this one, only bone stock.
To sweeten the deal, I\'m including in a \'Lakota Leathers\' super soft and very comfortable bison strap (approx. $50 value), one which I believe is a prototype. I\'ll also throw in a set of Gibson Earl Scruggs light gauge strings and a brand new Kyser capo (still in the original packaging).
