ourning etiquette was very important and

wearing beautifully crafted pieces containing pictures orlocks of hair was considered arespectful way of honoring the memory ofloved ones.

This finest quality Brooch is crafted in 15ct Gold & polished Black Onyx. It is set centrally with a Pearl surrounded by four similar Pearls within astylizedGold Quatrefoil Setting all centred within the oval domed plaque of Onyx with a Golddecoratedborder. It is complete with it\'s locket back

compartment, which is vacant

Typical of the period this superb example of a Victorian Mourning Brooch is unmarked but it has been tested & is guaranteed to be made from solid 15ct Gold.The

Brooch, which measures approx\' 43mm by 29mm, and weighs 16.1 grams (including the safety chain) is in crisp original condition; however the back of the Brooch behind the glazed panel is cracked, as shown - but thiswon\'tbe seen when worn.
