Hello, this gorgeous ring is both impressive and beautiful, with more than 8 carats of quality sapphire and diamonds. It is offered at an excellent price to achieve a quick sale before I go overseas for a few months. It would cost vastly more in a store (see my insurance policy in photos, with $31K insured value).
I am an attorney who is relocating and downsizing, and I am selling some jewelry that I no longer need. This sapphire/diamond/platinum ring has been a favorite, but I now have another similar ring.
I purchased this ring from Fortunoff on Fifth Avenue in New York’s Manhattan. I paid $30,000 dollars for the ring, which you can see reflected in my Masterpiece by Chubb insurance documentation, see scanned copy of this describing the ring.The ring was set solely in platinum when I bought it and the stones are still all set in the original platinum. When I bought the ring I had Fortunoff change the shank of the ring to 18ct yellow gold for me. It is subtle but the ring looks great with other yellow gold jewelry or with platinum or white gold jewelry, which is what I wanted.
As set out in the attached insurance policy (Chubb Masterpiece policy), the description of the ring is;
3 stone ring of platinum [with 18ct yellow gold shank] containing 1 oval sapphire, wt. approx. 7.12 cts, and 2 trillion cut diamonds, total wt. approx. 1.14 cts, F/G color, VS2/SII clarity. Valuation $31,191. I can send you by email a copy of the Chubb Masterpiece insurance policy as that may be easier to read than the above photo. The size around the finger for this ring is currently size 6.5.
As always happens with sapphires, which are made of corundum and are soft, there are very small signs of wear on the center sapphire stone – see the photos. I am not aware that this ring has been heat treated – I don’t think Fortunoff would sell a ring that is heated, but then again heating is very common for sapphires.PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS.
