Description: Cup & Saucer - weighs 7.91 troy ozs.
Maker : Tiffany & Co - circa 1875.
Pattern: finely engraved & partial gilt foliage floral leaf patterns on a matte surface.
Marked : Tiffany & Co, 3869 M 170, STERLING SILVER 1 1/2 Gills.
Measurements : Cup: 4 1/2" from handle to rim, 3 9/16" in width and measures 2 1/8" in height to the top of handle. Saucer: 5 7/16" in diameter.
Monograms: "Captain Enoch Turley and Mrs Susan Turley 1838-1888". - a 50th anniversary gift.

Capt. Enoch Turley was appointed Harbor Master of the Port of Philadelphia ("Martin\'s Bench and Bar of Philadelphia"). According to census figures,Enoch and Susan Turley appear to have been quite well-off and records from the history of the city show they were involved within the society of 1800\'s Philadelphia. Enoch Turley was listed as Vice-President of the Children\'s Homeopathic Hospital of Philadelphia (aka Hahnemann\'s Children\'s Hospital) and his wife Susan was listed as a vice-president of the board of ladymanagers for the same (1877). Susan was also one of the\'managers\' of the Female Seaman\'s Friend Society located onSouth Front Street, PhiladelphiaAlso on Google Books there is a letter written from Captain Enoch Turley - commander of the Packet-ship Tuscurora - dated: August 23, 1851.
