Up for sale is aIndianWarEraUS ArmyModel 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling. This is the3rd Pattern Sling,withthenarrowprong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4\" widex 65\" long.The sling has theround holes.This sling is a single length,NOT made fromsalvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. Theleather issoft and supple. Minor surface cracking on the surface of the sling. No deep cracks or crazing. No breaks through the leather.It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original richdark brown color.It has afaint Rock Island Arsenalmarkings on the sling.The sling is used, please see photo\'s for condition.

NOTE: this sling is being sold as a collectible item and isNOT intended for actual usage. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon.
