Offered for sale is a beautiful, vintage, all metal gear 1927 Singer 99 sewing machine in bentwood case with knee bar operation. If you know anything about these vintage Singer machines - they are workhorses. Leather, canvas, multiple layers - if you can dream it up, these machines can sew it. It\'s like having an industrial/commercial machine in your own home. These are all metal gears - no flimsy plastic.

This machine comes with a nice powerful .6amp motor and beautiful clean ornate hardware. The sample shown is 1/4\" tooling leather. This 99 put down a nice tight stitch.

This is a great little machine - perfect for household use or light industry. This 99 gives you the power of the larger 15, 66, 201 in a 3/4 size which is ideal for transport and storage.

From standard fabric projects, to mending denim, to leather projects... this machine can do it. Straight lock-stitch. No reverse on a 1927 model 99.

This machine comes loaded - original Singer key, full Singer attachment set, original Singer knee bar, bentwood case with beehive handle, etc

Remember: You\'re buying a vintage sewing machine. Most sewing machines we sell are 60-80+ years old. They have have some needle marks, cabinet/case wear, etc. All are in very good cosmetic condition and 20+ pictures provided of all machines.

All wiring checked. This machine is clean - The power cord is new with original bakelite push-pin connection
The motor is stripped, connections checked (re-soldered if needed), brushes replaced, carbon cleaned.
Bobbin case removed, cleaned and polished. Hook assembly stripped and cleaned.
Gears/points cleaned of old grease and replenished with Singer Lubricant or oil (as applicable to that part)!!
Oil points are replenished appropriately with Singer-brand sewing machine oil - not simply hosed down with \"household\" 3-in-1 oil.
Motor is run for a 5-minute continuous-run test to ensure smooth, strong, even, uninterrupted operation
New bobbin winder wheel rubber
All machines comes with a pack of needles (Singer Titanium), bobbins (vintage bobbins, not the non-fitting new class 66) and new felt.

MACHINE TESTED ON 1/4\" TOOLING LEATHER. We use Schmetz 110/18 Leather needles and HD nylon upholstery thread (different colors for top and bottom thread to show you the nice, tight, even stitch). Remember, when sewing leather like this you want to assist the initial piercing with the handwheel - then sit back and watch the machine do the rest. As a disclaimer we remind you that this is a heavy-duty home machine - not commercial. Industrial strength means all-metal gears and reliable/consistent operation on heavy duty projects). While this machine will push through up to 1/4\" tooling leather, it is not designed to handle this kind of leather on a regular basis. This sample was done to show power-only. We also did a lengthy sample on 5-6oz leather which the machine did with ease. The term \"Industrial Strength\" is used as it is accepted description on . Simply put, this mean high-grade steel gears and components with the ability to work reliably without damage.

SnyderSewingCo was created as an alternate source of income for our family of six. Our family hails from NEPA where Dad works a fulltime job, Mom stays at home with our 4 beautiful children and homeschools the oldest two (the two youngest are not yet of school age). The money generated from our sales enables Mom to stay at home.
