Interesting 1860s African Americans Civil War Virginia Era Kilburn Stereoview:
$55.98
An interesting close-up image of an African American family posed in front of their neatly constructed cabin with a lot to see. The husband and his wife are posed on either side of the main door with their son at the left and a small child seated at the right. The man\'s clothing is tattered. There are other interesting details visible: The woman stands next to what appears to be a washing half barrel. The young child seats near a large metal kettle and other containers. At the far left is a tiny wooden chair apparently constructed for a child\'s use.Their home has a log cabin base, a wooden slat roof and abrick chimney at the left. It is connected to a section of the house with a separate entrance, this appears to be the kitchen.
An early Kilburn view, circa late 1860s after the Civil War from the series \" 885. Cabin Home, Virginia. Photographed & Published by Kilburn Brothers, Littleton, N.H.\" Oneminuscule nick in the image below the laundry tub, o/w a clean sharp view with nice tonality and fine stereoscopic effect in a viewer.A fine view of what is likely an emancipated Black slave family in Virginia.
The image is near excellent withsharp focus, rich tonality and great three-dimensional effect in a viewer. See all 3 scans. Buyer pays shipping of $4.00. Payment by PayPal.See my other sales for a related Kilburn view, no. 884, of an African American man posed by Fort Damnation.
