Interesting 40mm x 20mm x 17mm Akan (Ashanti) bronze gold counterweight depicting a pregnant woman and man. 18th/19th century. These were used in the gold mines of Ghana as counterweights to weigh gold dust on beam scales. This is nice large old meaty example.
